All you need for everyday banking as an undergraduate
To apply, you need to be a permanent UK resident (ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years or more) and completing a full-time undergraduate course lasting at least 2 years; completing a full-time postgraduate course; or training as a nurse, at a UK university or college of higher education.

An interest-free overdraft there when you need it
Our Student Account and the Arranged Overdraft are easy to understand so you don't have to worry.
You can apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £1,000 by the end of your 1st year, if eligible. You can then apply for an increase each year you're at university. If you are studying for a 5 year degree, you can apply for up to £2,000, in your 5th year.

Student Credit Card
RBS have also designed a credit card especially for the way you live your life. Available to RBS Student Current Account customers.
The Student Credit Card offers the following:
Online and mobile management, plus email/SMS reminders
Manage your card via our dedicated Credit Card Online Services platform. Alternatively, use Digital Banking or our mobile app and manage your credit card alongside your RBS Student Current Account. Never miss a payment again.
A maximum credit limit of £500
You can also withdraw up to £250 a day from cash machines worldwide, depending on your credit limit. There's a 3% handling fee (minimum £3) for cash advances.
